CORPORATE ADVOCACY


The Management Commitee of the QLDSESVA are committed to the improvement of the welfare and volunteer experience of all volunteer members of the Queensland State Emergency Service (QSES). 

Queensland Government and Agencies 

Members of the management committee of the QLDSESVA regularly meet, and/or communciate with, senior members of QSES, the Queensland Polcie Service and Members of Parliament (both in government and opposition). The purpose of this engagement is to:

  • Communicate issues, raise awareness and address concerns affecting volunteer members of the QSES including those relating to their physical and mental health, safety, training, resources and welfare;
  • Represent the views of QSES volunteer members to agencies at all levels of government and any other organisation on any matter affecting QSES volunteers; including the supply of equipment, training, resources and other needs of QSES volunteers members;
  • Enhance the interface between QSES volunteers, the association and agencies at all levels of government.

National State Emergency Service Volunteer Association

The President of the QLDSESVA is appointed as director to the National State Emergency Service Volunteers Association (NSESVA) to represent the interests of QSES volunteer members at the national level.  In addition one member of the QLDSESVA is also appointed as a Counsellor assisting NSESVA directors and provides addiitonal representation and advocacy to the NSESVA on behalf of QLDSESVA members.

QSES Committees

Members of the Management Committee and other appointed QLDSESVA members sit on the following QSES committees to represent the views of the QLDSESVA and QSES volunteers:

  • Operational Capability and Resourcing Committee
  • People, Suport and Engagement Committee
  • Support Grant State Assessment Committee
  • Volunteer Consultative Committee
