CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP.

Complimentary Membership

Complimentary Membership is free and open to all State Emergency Service (SES) volunteer members in Queensland who have completed the mandatory probation period and have been issued with a membership number and make application for membership to the association, or a previous volunteer member of QSES who has greater than 5 years of continuous service with the QSES.  A complimentary member has voting rights for any motions put forward during a general meeting. However, a complimentary member has no voting rights in relation to the election of the management committee. A complimentary member is not eligible to be on the management committee.

Ordinary Membership

Ordinary members are any complimentary member who also voluntarily pays the prescribed annual fee as set by the management committee.  An ordinary member must have been an ordinary member and paid the prescribed fee for two (2) consecutive years to have voting rights in relation to the election of the management committee at a general meeting. Ordinary Members are eligible to be nominated for election to a position on the management committee.

LIABILITY INSURANCE.

All prospective members are advised that the QLDSESVA holds current General and Products Liability Insurance to the extent of the following limits: General Liability (any one occurrence) $20,000,000 and Products Liability (any one period of insurance) $20,000,000.

PROCESSING OF MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS

New member applications are reviewed regularly by the management committee at the next scheduled committee meeting, usually held during the first week of each month.  Once considered by the committee, prospective members will be advised by email from the secretary of the acceptance or otherwise of their application.
